About Me
Hi, I'm Chloe!
I'm an engineer with a passion for all things STEM. I've always been fascinated by the world around me and had a burning desire to understand how it all works — whether that's how something's built, why something behaves the way it does, or what's actually going on behind the scenes.
That curiosity is what led me into STEM, and something I now want to share with and inspire in you!
Because the world is a beautifully weird and wonderful place — and the more you learn about it, the more amazing it gets!
Why I started The Everyday STEMinist
I started The Everyday STEMinist to become the role model I always wished I'd had
It's always made me sad to see how many people, from such a young age are made to feel like STEM isn't for them.
Growing up, I always had a passion for science and tech, but I know how easy it is for that interest to be shaped, or limited, by the messages you receive about who belongs in STEM and who doesn't.
The truth is, there's a place in STEM for everyone. You don't have to look or think a certain way. If you are creative, curious and open to the wonder of the world, then you are welcome here.
I'm also very passionate about advocating for women in STEM and the barriers we still face. For a long time, these spaces were gate kept, restricted areas where women were not welcome.
While much has changed, that legacy still lingers. It costs us talent, creativity, and innovation. Even today, women still make up just 28% of the global STEM workforce, with many leaving the field due to gender-related issues such as bias and discrimination. That's not to mention how many amazing young women and girls steer away from these careers because they feel like they don't belong.
And that's why The Everyday Steminist exists. Because no one should feel like something as incredible as STEM isn't for them.
